Egypt Daily News – The Iranian judiciary announced on Monday the execution of a man convicted of spying for the Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad), named Ismail Fekri, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency. At the same time, a “senior spy” was arrested. Fekri had been detained in 2023 on charges of collaborating with Israeli Mossad.
This is the third execution related to espionage for Israel carried out by Tehran in recent weeks.
In the same context, Iranian authorities arrested a “senior Mossad spy” while he was fleeing from the border city of Baneh, which lies in Iran’s western Kurdistan province, near the border with Iraq.
“Infiltrating elements”
Earlier today, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf announced that infiltrators had carried out attacks inside the country on behalf of Israel. He stated, “A large portion of the enemy’s attacks are not military, but are executed through infiltrating elements from within.”
On Sunday, Iranian police announced the arrest of “two members of a Mossad-affiliated cell” in Alborz Province in northern Iran.
Authorities added that the two individuals “were involved in manufacturing bombs, explosives, and electronic equipment in a hideout in the Savojbolagh area,” according to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.
Warning from the Revolutionary Guard
On Saturday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Intelligence Organization warned that any intelligence cooperation with Mossad, or communication with individuals linked to Israel, is considered a crime punishable by the harshest penalties.
Additionally, Iranian authorities arrested five people in the central city of Yazd on charges of taking photographs and collaborating with Israel.
This came after Israel broadcast footage last Friday showing Mossad operatives inside Iran launching drones toward military sites.
In recent days, Israel and Iran have exchanged a series of attacks, following Tel Aviv’s assassinations of several senior military commanders and 14 nuclear scientists—indicating a major intelligence breach.
