A girls’ elementary school in the southern Iranian city of Minab was struck during the ongoing military operations between Israel, the United States and Iran, Iranian state media and international outlets including Al Jazeera reported on Saturday.

Iran’s state news agency IRNA cited provincial officials saying the attack hit the Shajare Tayyebeh primary school in Hormozgan province during the broader wave of strikes launched earlier in the day. Early reports from the school suggested civilian casualties, including young students.

Videos and reports circulating on social media show rescue workers at the scene and smoke rising above damaged buildings, but independent verification by international journalists on the ground is limited at this time.

The incident occurred amid a broader wave of airstrikes by US and Israeli forces targeting multiple Iranian locations in what officials described as an effort to degrade Tehran’s military capabilities. Iran has denied seeking nuclear weapons and characterized the strikes as a violation of its sovereignty.
