Iranian President: I appreciate the persistent Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza

Egypt Daily News – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Egypt’s tireless efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza. During his speech at the session on the situation in Palestine and Lebanon at the 11th summit of the Organization of Eight Developing Countries, the Iranian President said that the Israeli aggression on Gaza has entered its second year, continuing its violations against innocent people.

The Iranian President stressed that the Israeli occupation violated all international laws in the Gaza Strip and committed crimes against humanity.

The Iranian president continued: “We must pressure the Israeli government to stop the war and violations in Gaza and the West Bank, aid must be allowed to enter the Gaza Strip and the Palestinians must be given their right to self-determination in accordance with international laws.”

He confirmed that the Israeli occupation has expanded its aggression to include Lebanon and Syria. He said that the international community must take actual steps to stop the Israeli aggression and hold it accountable for its crimes against civilians.

The Iranian president continued: “We hope for the existence of a civilian government in Syria that respects all sects of the Syrian people.” He indicated that specific mechanisms must be reached within the Organization of Eight Developing Countries to support the Palestinian people. and stressed that Israel ignores international resolutions, most notably Security Council Resolution No. 1701.
