Israel attacks Iran

Egypt Daily News – Israel and Iran continue their “tit for tat” actions raising tension in the Middle East. It all started when Israel bombed the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1, which is considered as an unprecedented act of aggression against a diplomatic mission.

Iran replied and they’ve been at it since then. Today’s action are in response to the October 1, Iranian massive ballistic missile attack on Israel, prompting Israel’s retaliatory strikes early Saturday morning.

However the farce continues when one hears through WALLA that “Israel informed Iran before carrying out the retaliatory attack”?

A source revealed that Russia informed Iran about the presence of American and Israeli military movements and that Moscow provided information as part of cooperation with Iran to reduce escalation, affirming that Russia provided intelligence information to Iran hours before the Israeli attack began.

The Iranian Central Air Defense Headquarters stated that the Israeli occupation army attacked military sites in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam, noting that the attack resulted in limited damage to some sites.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) reportedly utilized over 100 aircraft, including advanced F-35 stealth fighters, to target Iran’s missile manufacturing facilities, surface-to-air missile systems, and other military capabilities concentrated in various regions, specifically Tehran and Karaj.

Israeli officials indicated that the strikes were carefully calculated to avoid hitting nuclear and oil facilities, with the intention of minimizing the risk of broader conflict.

The operation commenced with initial attacks on radar and air defense systems to establish air superiority and mitigate Iranian defensive capabilities.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) emphasized that their focus was entirely on military targets, maintaining that all aircraft returned safely post-operation.

In the face of potential Iranian retaliation, the U.S. has heightened its military presence in the region. U.S. military assets, including F-16 fighters, have been repositioned as a deterrent against further Iranian actions.

Additionally, the Biden administration’s deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system in Israel signifies a readiness to support Israeli defense needs, which could involve direct engagement by U.S. forces should the situation escalate further.

The U.S. government has publicly expressed support for Israel’s actions, framing them within the context of Israel’s right to self-defense.

High-level briefings have ensured U.S. officials are kept informed about developments, indicating that both nations are closely monitoring the situation, which remains precarious as all parties prepare for potential further escalations in hostilities.

The semi-official Iranian news agency “Tasnim” said that Tehran is “ready to respond” to the attack launched by Israel against it early Saturday morning.

Informed sources said that “Iran, as previously announced, is ready to respond to Israel’s aggression.”

The sources added: “Iran reserves the right to respond to any aggression, and there is no doubt that Israel will receive a proportional response to any action.”
