Egypt Daily News – The Israeli army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, issued an urgent evacuation warning to residents of the Tel al-Sultan area in Rafah, Gaza.
In a statement on the platform X, Adraee said, “The IDF has begun an attack to strike terrorist organizations, as the area they are in is considered a dangerous combat zone.”
He added that “Gush Katif Road is a designated humanitarian corridor for movement towards the Al-Mawasi area,” warning residents against using vehicles. The statement emphasized the necessity of immediate evacuation, urging people to stay in shelters, tents, and homes or use alternative routes, as unspecified paths could endanger their lives and those of their families.
Earlier, Israel’s security cabinet (the “kabinett”) approved a proposal by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to establish a new administration within the Ministry of Defense. This body will oversee the organization and facilitation of Palestinians’ “voluntary” departure from Gaza to third countries.
According to The Times of Israel, the defense minister’s office stated that the new administration will “prepare to ensure and regulate the safe and orderly departure of Gaza residents.” This will involve providing transportation routes, security screening measures at designated crossings inside Gaza, and coordinating the necessary infrastructure to facilitate travel by land, sea, and air to final destinations.
The statement also noted that these efforts align “with Israeli and international laws and in accordance with the vision of former U.S. President Donald Trump.”
Commenting on the decision, Defense Minister Gallant said, “We are working by all means to implement the vision of President Trump, and we will allow any Gaza resident who wishes to move to a third country to do so.” A head for the new administration is expected to be appointed soon, according to the defense minister’s office.
