Israel strikes Damascus

Egypt Daily News – The Syrian presidency strongly condemned the bombing that targeted the presidential palace on Thursday, holding the Israeli army responsible for what it described as a “dangerous escalation” and a “violation of the state’s sovereignty and institutions.” It also considered the incident a sign of “ongoing reckless actions aimed at destabilizing the country and worsening security crises.”

In an official statement, the presidency said the attack “targets national security and the unity of the Syrian people,” calling on the international community and Arab countries to “stand by Syria in confronting these aggressive assaults that violate international laws and conventions.”

The statement added that “the presidency calls on Arab countries to unify their positions and express their full support for Syria in facing these attacks, in a way that guarantees the rights of Arab peoples to resist Israeli aggressive practices.”

The Syrian presidency stressed that “these assaults will not succeed in weakening the will of the Syrian people or hindering their efforts to achieve stability and peace across all regions.” It noted that the relevant security agencies are continuing investigations to pursue those responsible for the attacks, and that the state “will continue to act firmly to prevent any threats that may target the security of the nation and its citizens.”

The presidency renewed its call for “all parties to commit to dialogue and cooperation within the framework of national unity,” and to confront “all attempts at distortion that aim to prolong the crisis.” It affirmed that “Syria is moving forward on the path of reconstruction and revival, and the reform process will not stop regardless of the challenges.”

At the end of the statement, the presidency stressed that “Syria will not compromise on its sovereignty or security and will continue to defend the rights of its people by all available means.”

U.S. Statement
Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department issued a statement strongly condemning the recent acts of violence and incitement targeting members of the Druze community in Syria, describing the incidents as “unacceptable,” according to the statement.
