Jana Mahmoud wins gold in the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup on the floor exercise

Egypt Daily News – Jana Mahmoud, a member of Egypt’s national gymnastics team, won the gold medal in the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, held at the main hall of Cairo International Stadium from April 25 to 28.

She secured the gold in the floor exercise with a score of 13.033 points, adding another medal to Egypt’s tally, which now stands at five: two golds and three bronzes.

Earlier, Omar El Arabi won gold in the parallel bars and had also claimed a bronze in the rings event the previous day. Judy Abdullah earned two bronze medals in the vault and the uneven bars.

Dr. Ehab Amin, President of the Egyptian Gymnastics Federation, expressed great joy over Jana’s victory, praising her determination and progress, especially after her participation in the recent Paris Olympics. He emphasized that this win reflects the continued development and success of Egyptian gymnastics.

This championship marks the final leg of the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series under the supervision of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). It plays a crucial role in determining the athletes’ final world rankings and includes the awarding of the overall apparatus champions’ trophies.

The Egyptian men’s team includes: Mohamed Afifi, Abdelrahman Abdelhalim, Omar El Shobaky, Ahmed El Maraghy, Omar El Arabi, and Aly Abdelkader.
The women’s team includes: Jana Mahmoud, Judy Abdullah, Jana Abdelsalam, and Dana Khalil.

The Egyptian men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics teams aim to challenge the world’s top gymnasts at global and Olympic levels, building on the extensive efforts and international experience gained through numerous competitions under the leadership of Dr. Ehab Amin and the Gymnastics Federation.
