Egypt Daily News – Spanish media reports on Thursday revealed that German coach Jürgen Klopp, the current head of the ‘Red Bull’ sports group and former Liverpool manager, has shown interest in taking over as coach of Real Madrid, replacing Italian Carlo Ancelotti.

Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract, with the English club later announcing the appointment of Dutch coach Arne Slot for the upcoming season. According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Klopp has agreed to enter formal negotiations with Real Madrid’s management, who are eager to bring him in to lead the team in the near future.

The newspaper clarified that the club’s officials highly appreciate Klopp’s style and tactical ideas, seeing him as the ideal candidate to lead their new sports project due to his strong personality and vast experience in European competitions.

Real Madrid’s management also believes that appointing Klopp could provide the team with a strong boost in its competition against Barcelona’s project, now under the guidance of Hans Flick, who began coaching the Catalan team this season.

There are growing expectations that Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid at the end of the current season, especially after the team was eliminated from the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals by English side Arsenal. Madrid lost the first leg 3-0 in London and was defeated again in the return leg 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Notably, Real Madrid is currently in second place in La Liga, with 66 points, trailing Barcelona by four points as they enter the 31st round of the season.
