Egypt Daily News – Yesterday’s evening meeting netween Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, the head of the Egyptian Drug Authority, discussed the availability of medicines within the Egyptian market.

Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized that this meeting is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to overseeing the supply of medicines, highlighting the initiatives taken over the past months to facilitate customs releases for both medicines and their raw materials.

These actions have significantly contributed to fulfilling the market’s medicinal needs.

Dr. Madbouly reiterated the importance of the pharmaceutical industry as a priority sector for the government, aiming to bolster drug manufacturing and overall industrial capabilities during this critical period.

In response, Dr. Al-Ghamrawi noted that the Drug Authority is actively working to enhance medicine availability and has made progress in increasing supply. He also mentioned that the completion of certain remaining medication types is anticipated within the coming weeks.

During their discussions, Dr. Al-Ghamrawi outlined the collaborative efforts between the Drug Authority and the World Health Organization, focusing on aligning the pharmaceutical sector with global standards.

He further elaborated on the authority’s commitment to modernization through mechanization and digital transformation, emphasizing the importance of adopting the latest technological advancements in the industry.

Additionally, he highlighted the Drug Authority’s collaboration with the Unified Procurement Authority to integrate modern technology into pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
