More than 160,000 Syrians and Lebanese returned to Syria within this week

Egypt Daily News – The number of Syrians and Lebanese arriving in Syria during this week has exceeded 160,000 people, most of whom are Syrians, in addition to Lebanese families reaching shelter centers in the countryside of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The Deputy Governor of Rural Damascus, Youssef Al-Hamoud, stated that the number of people arriving in Syria through the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon in Rural Damascus has exceeded 124,000, including 95,750 Syrians and 28,325 Lebanese, as of this evening, since last Monday.

Additionally, thousands more have arrived through the Zmarnah crossing in Rural Damascus since the beginning of the return of Syrians and Lebanese to Syria due to the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

Al-Hamoud stated in a statement to the German news agency (D.ب.”Today, more than 25 Lebanese families arrived at the Harjalah shelter in the countryside of Damascus.

This is the first group to reach the center after the three hotels that were accommodating Lebanese families in the city of Sayyida Zainab became full, in addition to hundreds of families residing in residential apartments and with their relatives and acquaintances.”

The deputy governor added that the Harjallah shelter accommodates more than 700 families, in addition to the Dwair shelter in rural Damascus, which houses hundreds of families in anticipation of Israel expanding its aggression on Lebanese territory. The Rural Damascus governorate is doing everything it can to serve the guests.

In my provinces of Homs and Tartus, official sources confirmed to (Dr.ب.”A) The number of arrivals from Lebanon is increasing daily, with over 12,600 Lebanese and 11,500 Syrians crossing through the crossings in Homs Governorate.

They are distributed between the city of Homs and its western countryside in shelters located in schools, homes, and guest accommodations, as well as others affiliated with churches.”

The local community and private Syrian transport companies provided hundreds of vehicles to transport returnees from the crossings with Lebanon to city centers in Damascus, Homs, and Tartus, due to the arrival of thousands of Lebanese and Syrian families at the border crossings without cars.
