Morocco beats Egypt 6-0 and wins bronze at the Paris Olympics for the first time

Egypt Daily News – The Moroccan Olympic football team achieved a historic milestone by winning the bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. They secured this victory with an impressive 6-0 win over the Egyptian Olympic team in the match for third place, held at La Boujour Stadium.

Sofiane Rahimi stood out in the match, scoring two goals, while Abdel Samad Zalzouli, Akram Nakache, Bilal Al-Khannous, and Ashraf Hakimi each contributed with a goal. Despite solid efforts, the Egyptian team was unable to find the back of the net and fell to a heavy defeat.

The Egyptian squad featured notable players including goalkeeper Hamza Alaa, defenders Karim Al-Dabis, Hossam Abdel Majeed, Mohamed Tariq, and Mohamed Shehata, alongside midfielders Mohamed Elneny, Ahmed Nabil Koka, and Mahmoud Sab, and forwards Ibrahim Adel, Osama Faisal, and Ahmed Mustafa Zizo.

On the other side, the Moroccan team was composed of goalkeeper Mounir Al-Mohammadi and a defense including Ashraf Hakimi, Zakaria Al-Wahidi, Akram Al-Naqqash, and Mehdi Boukamer, with a midfield of Osama Tergalin, Amir Richardson, and Bilal Al-Khannous, and an attacking trio of Abdel Samad Al-Zalzouli, Sofiane Rahimi, and Elias Akhomash.

This bronze medal win marks a significant achievement for Moroccan football, highlighting their rising prowess on the international stage.
