Strange lights seen over Egypt

Egypt Daily News – In a striking phenomenon, several Egyptians reported seeing mysterious glowing objects in the skies over Cairo and various other governorates. This occurred shortly after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it had launched attacks on dozens of targets in Israel in response to earlier Israeli strikes on Iranian territory.

Many people questioned whether the glowing objects were related to the ongoing conflict or simply an astronomical event.

Military and strategic expert Major General Mohamed El-Shahawy told said that Egypt’s skies are completely safe. He explained that the glowing objects observed in the early hours of Saturday were likely the result of the THAAD missile interceptions during Iran’s attacks on Israel. Such defensive operations often create luminous trails and flashes that can be seen from long distances, which is what was visible over Egypt.

He added that these glowing phenomena may have been caused by interceptor missiles or the burning fuel from launched missiles, emphasizing that there is no cause for concern.

Iran has launched a new wave of missiles toward Israel, triggering air raid sirens across the country. The Israeli military confirmed that waves of missiles were fired from Iran and that its defense systems were working to intercept them. Missiles were reportedly intercepted over areas including the Galilee, Tel Aviv, and Beersheba.

Israeli media described the Iranian missile barrage as the largest of its kind, while the Israeli army confirmed that some missiles had been intercepted and that injuries were reported in several locations.
