Egypt Daily News – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has characterized the current conflict as a “multi-front war against Iran,” emphasizing Israel’s readiness for various scenarios, both defensive and offensive.

In a recent speech, he underscored that his government will maintain military pressure on Hamas until all hostages are returned and the war objectives are met.

Netanyahu dismissed reports of negotiations for a prisoner exchange, asserting that Hamas is hindering any potential agreements by refusing to accept conditions that would restrict their ability to move weapons and militants into northern Gaza.

According to two Israeli officials speaking to Axios, Netanyahu’s demands have rendered a ceasefire and exchange deal unattainable.

These officials, including high-ranking security and intelligence members involved in the negotiations, are reportedly convinced that Netanyahu is not inclined to pursue the deal, despite any assurances he may have provided to U.S. President Joe Biden during their recent discussions.

Moreover, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant has reportedly communicated to Netanyahu that there are no security concerns impeding a prisoner exchange with Hamas.

It was noted that Galant expressed to Netanyahu in a closed meeting that his proposed terms were unrealistic and not aligned with the country’s best interests, suggesting a significant rift between military leadership and the Prime Minister’s strategy.
