Egypt Daily News – Egypt has informed the US that it is impossible to implement the plan to displace Gazans and that its position on the displacement of Gazans will not change. According to the sources, Egypt emphasizes that it has a vision for the reconstruction of Gaza without displacing its residents and insists that Gazans remain inside Gaza without being displaced.
Sources have revealed that there are consultations to hold an “emergency” Arab summit in Cairo within days to confront the plans to displace the Palestinians.
The sources said that the summit will discuss reaching a unified Arab decision and position that rejects displacement and emphasizes the Arab consensus to take the necessary legal and international measures to stop attempts to expel Palestinians from their lands.
The sources revealed that the summit will also discuss plans to rebuild Gaza without removing Palestinians from their lands, and will support the completion of the ceasefire agreement and prevent any violations.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, emphasized the need for Arab unanimity in refusing to compromise the fundamentals of the Palestinian cause, the most important of which is the survival of the people on their land and not depriving them of their right to self-determination.
During his meeting with Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine, Aboul Gheit said that what is needed at this stage is to stabilize the ceasefire, work to bring in urgent relief aid, and help the population to gradually restore normal life in order to thwart the Israeli plan to make the Gaza Strip unviable.
Jamal Roushdy, spokesperson for the Arab League, said that the recent statements by the Israeli prime minister about the so-called voluntary exit of the population from the Gaza Strip clearly reveal the nature and objectives of the Israeli plan, stressing that the Palestinian people will not allow the Nakba to be repeated again under the pretext of voluntary or forced exit.
Egypt has warned of the repercussions of statements made on Thursday by members of the Israeli government about the start of a plan to displace the Palestinian people from their land, emphasizing that displacement is a blatant and flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law and the most basic rights of Palestinian citizens, and calls for accountability, according to an official statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
An official statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Egypt emphasizes the catastrophic repercussions that may result from this irresponsible behavior, which weakens and destroys the negotiation of the ceasefire agreement and incites the resumption of fighting, pointing to the dangers that may result in the entire region and the foundations of peace.
The Egyptian statement stressed the complete rejection of any proposal or concept that aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause by uprooting the Palestinian people or displacing them from their historical land and seizing it, whether in an interim or final form, warning of the repercussions of such ideas, which are an injustice and an infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, to which Egypt will not be a party.
