Palestinians returning to Northern Gaza

Egypt Daily News – The Israeli Channel 12 reported today, Monday, that the Israeli army began to withdraw from the Netzarim corridor. Video clips showed residents beginning to move on foot towards the north of the Strip.

This comes as Hamas announced that it had reached a new hostage deal which allowed the return of the displaced people from Monday morning, January 27, 2025 to the northern Gaza Strip.

Hamas said that “within the framework of the movement’s efforts to remove the excuses that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had set facing the return of the displaced to the northern Gaza Strip, Hamas presented a proposal to the mediators to conduct an additional exchange that includes the hostage Arbel Yehud plus two others from in exchange for Palestinian prisoners before next Friday. “

Hamas pointed out that “the exchange process scheduled for next Saturday remains the same as it is on time and includes three Israeli hostages.”

In turn, the Israeli army announced that it will allow the return of the population on foot to the northern Gaza Strip through the Netzarim corridor and through Al -Rashid Street (Al -Bahr Road) from 07:00 am, and it will also be allowed to move vehicles to the northern Gaza Strip after a security inspection at the Salah al -Din check point from the hour 09:00 AM.

The Ministry of Interior in Gaza announced that Al -Rashid Street will be opened to cross for pedestrians only in both directions at 7 am, noting that Salah al -Din Street will be opened to the vehicles in one direction from the south to the north at 9 am this morning, and all the vehicles will be subject for a security inspection before crossing from Salah al -Din Street.
