Egypt Daily News – The U.S. Department of Defense, “the Pentagon,” stated that two U.S. Navy destroyers launched about 12 Surface to air missiles to intercept Iranian missiles aimed at Israel.

Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder stated at a press conference today, Tuesday, that no other American military assets were used to intercept the missiles, which were all launched from within Iran.

He added that his country was unaware of any warning from Iran before the attack on Israel, affirming that his country fully supports Israel’s right to what he called self-defense after the Iranian attack, which he described as significant.

He pointed out that the Iranian missile attack on Israel was twice the size of the attack on April 14 (which was launched in response to Israel’s targeting of the Iranian consulate in Damascus).

On Tuesday evening, Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel, while sirens sounded across Israel.
