President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived in Saudi Arabia on Monday for a fraternal visit aimed at reinforcing bilateral ties and deepening coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Upon his arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, the Egyptian leader was received by Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and Prime Minister. The reception was also attended by Egypt’s ambassador to Riyadh, the Egyptian Consul General in Jeddah, and members of the Egyptian diplomatic mission in the kingdom.
In an official statement, the Egyptian presidency said the visit reflects the two countries’ shared commitment to strengthening their historic and fraternal relationship. It added that the talks are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, as well as continuing consultation and coordination on pressing regional and international developments.
Cairo and Riyadh maintain close political and economic ties, with regular high-level exchanges underscoring their strategic partnership. Both governments have emphasized the importance of joint action in addressing regional security challenges, economic cooperation, and broader geopolitical shifts affecting the Middle East.
The visit comes at a time of heightened regional complexity, with leaders across the region intensifying diplomatic engagement to navigate ongoing crises and evolving alliances. Egyptian officials have consistently described relations with Saudi Arabia as a cornerstone of Arab cooperation, highlighting shared interests in stability, development, and collective security.
