The Presidency
Today, at his residence in Kuwait City, President El-Sisi received Kuwait’s Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The meeting came on the second day of the President’s visit to the State of Kuwait, the second leg of his Gulf tour.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah welcomed President El-Sisi to his second home, lauding Egypt’s supportive efforts in achieving security and stability in the region.
The Crown Prince of Kuwait affirmed Kuwait’s aspirations for this visit to significantly enhance bilateral relations in diverse fields, underscoring the robust bonds that unite the two countries.
President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality he received since his arrival in Kuwait. The President emphasized that he looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with the State of Kuwait, under the esteemed leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, encompassing all spheres of collaboration, with particular focus on the economic and investment sectors.
The President commended Kuwait’s efforts in developing its economy in accordance with Vision 2035. He expressed hope for an increase in the volume of bilateral trade and investment.
The meeting also focused on regional developments. President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s unyielding endeavors aimed at achieving a cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, efforts which were commended by His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The President and Kuwait’s Crown Prince reiterated the imperative of an immediate ceasefire, the exchange of hostages and detainees, the unfettered access of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and the commencement of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip in accordance with the Arab Plan.
They stated their categorical rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land and affirmed the critical importance of the sustained international efforts towards reviving a credible political process conducive to the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The discussion also tackled developments in Syria as well as regional and intentional efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis and reinforce stability in Sudan.
