The Presidency
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.H. Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud. The meeting was attended by Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno; Saudi Minister of State and Cabinet Member for Shura Council Affairs, Dr. Essam bin Saeed; and the Kingdom’s Ambassador in Cairo, Ambassador Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the Saudi Minister of Culture conveyed to the President the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince. President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the Saudi King and the Crown Prince as dear brothers, and affirmed the pride of Egypt’s leadership and people in the historical relations with Saudi Arabia in all fields, particularly in the cultural sphere.
The President also wished the Kingdom all success in various cultural events and sporting tournaments, and congratulated the Kingdom, once again, on winning the bid to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034.
President El-Sisi lauded the Kingdom’s progress in culture, arts and tourism. He also welcomed any cooperation the Kingdom might seek, given Egypt’s rich cultural heritage, extensive expertise and substantial capabilities in various realms of arts and culture.
President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s willingness to expand the implementation of specific projects with the Kingdom across all aspects pertinent to culture, arts, literature and heritage protection.
The Saudi Minister of Culture underscored the deep-rooted affinity and bonds between the Egyptian and Saudi peoples, noting that the Egyptian culture and arts hold a special place in the hearts of Saudi citizens.
He confirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening collaboration and to the implementation of cultural and artistic projects with Egypt.
The Saudi minister highlighted the ongoing and close coordination among the relevant ministries and authorities in the two countries, which contributes to fostering the course of cultural and artistic cooperation between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
