President El-Sisi spoke by phone with His Highness the Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said the President emphasized the depth, strength, and solidity of the historical relations between the Egyptian and Kuwaiti peoples, lauding the progress and prosperity the State of Kuwait has witnessed under His Highness Sheikh Meshal.

The Emir of Kuwait affirmed that he valued the close relations between the two countries and stressed his keenness to strengthen them in all fields to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples. The call also touched on regional developments.

Views between Egypt and Kuwait were aligned regarding the current situation in the region, as well as their condemnation and denunciation of Israel’s resumption of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, which has so far resulted in hundreds of civilian casualties, including children and women.

This is a flagrant violation of international law and the ceasefire agreement that has been reached. It is also part of deliberate attempts to make the Gaza Strip unliveable and drive Palestinians from the Gaza to emigrate.

The President and the Emir of Kuwait warned against the continued Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and the ensuing humanitarian repercussions, deterioration of the situation, expansion of the regional conflict, in addition to undermining the chances of peace and stability in the region.

The two leaders stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to push for an immediate ceasefire, implement the two-state solution, and establish a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, being the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
