Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized the pressing need for immediate concerted efforts to implement a ceasefire in Gaza, as he described the current situation in the Middle East as delicate and dangerous.

His remarks came during a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, where they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.

President El-Sisi acknowledged the longstanding relationship between Egypt and Turkey, appreciating the positive outcomes of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s previous visit to Egypt.

The discussions explored plans for the inaugural meeting of a high-level strategic council, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries based on mutual respect and shared interests.

The meeting also addressed the escalating tensions in the region, with President El-Sisi calling for restraint and the promotion of diplomatic solutions.

He warned against the expansion of conflict and underscored the importance of providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza, who are facing dire living conditions.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to achieving a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, advocating for the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the 1967 lines. This, he argued, is essential for ensuring justice, security, and stability in the region.
