President Sisi arrives in Turkey on the first visit by an Egyptian president in 12 years

Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has arrived in Ankara for an official visit, following an invitation from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

This is the first time and Egyptian President visits Turkey in 12years and the visit marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations, building on Erdoğan’s previous visit to Egypt in February and inaugurating a new phase of friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Turkey.

Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, emphasized the importance of this historic meeting, which seeks to enhance ties amid regional challenges requiring collaboration and dialogue.

During the visit, President Sisi and President Erdoğan are expected to engage in detailed discussions and chair the inaugural session of the high-level strategic cooperation council, focusing on improving bilateral relations and addressing mutual interests.

Key agenda topics include seeking a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the area, and reducing tensions throughout the Middle East. Additionally, the two leaders will oversee the signing of several memoranda of understanding in diverse fields to further solidify their cooperative efforts.
