Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Finance Ahmed Kojak to discuss the social support packages set to assist struggling families and beneficiaries of the “Takaful and Karama” program in the coming months until the end of June 2025. The meeting also addressed the anticipated increases in salaries, wages, and pensions, which are scheduled to take effect at the beginning of the new fiscal year in July 2025.

The spokesperson for the presidency stated that the meeting reviewed the social protection packages that the government has completed preparing, based on the president’s directives to continue alleviating the living burdens on citizens. This comes as part of the state’s efforts to enhance social protection and improve mechanisms for delivering these packages to eligible beneficiaries, ensuring they achieve their intended goals.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shinawy, mentioned that the president emphasized the necessity for the government to continue exerting all efforts to support the most struggling groups, improve targeting processes for families in need of assistance, and persist in developing the best policies and programs for social protection. This should be done in coordination with relevant state institutions to ensure the availability of essential needs for Egyptian families and enhance the quality and effectiveness of services provided to low- and middle-income groups.

He explained that the meeting also addressed the government’s efforts in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, the status of the strategic stockpile of goods and food supplies, and the ongoing efforts to increase reserves, particularly of strategic commodities.

The president directed that efforts must continue to ensure the availability of safe stock levels of various goods, guarantee the availability of products at reasonable prices, and maintain market regulation to support citizens by offering goods at reduced prices, thereby easing their financial burdens during the sacred month.
