Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi receiving, today, Saturday, President Brice Olégie Nguema, the interim president of the Gabonese Republic, at the Ittihadiya Palace.
An official reception ceremony was held for the distinguished guest of Egypt, during which the two presidents reviewed the guard of honor and the national anthem was played for both countries.
This was followed by a closed bilateral discussion session, followed by an expanded discussion session that included the delegations of the two countries. Many regional and international issues of common interest were discussed, as well as joint bilateral cooperation in various fields. This was followed by a joint press conference between the two presidents, during which they said the following:
President Sisi said, “We agreed with the President of Gabon to strengthen Egyptian support for Gabon in the health sector.”
President Sisi continued: We agreed to provide the opportunity to benefit from Egyptian medicine in the Gabonese market, and we stressed the importance of strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of agriculture, renewable energy, industry, transportation, and in building the capabilities of Gabonese cadres.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Gabon praised the Egyptian role in supporting his country. He said that his country is entering a new phase of restoring national institutions in a peaceful manner and without bloodshed.
President Brice Olégie Nguema stressed his government’s keenness to implement development programs with the support of the Gabonese people.
He pointed out that on November 16, a new constitution was drawn up and put to a popular referendum, in a step that reflects his country’s commitment to national consensus despite the challenges and sanctions imposed on the Central African region.
