Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Jake Sullivan, US National Security Advisor, and Brett McGurk, Middle East and North Africa Coordinator at the US National Security Council, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, Hassan Rashad, Head of General Intelligence, and the US Ambassador in Cairo, Herro Mustafa Garg.
The spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting dealt with the latest developments in the regional situation, and reviewed the efforts of the two sides to reach a ceasefire agreement and exchange detainees in Gaza, where the President stressed the importance of urgent action to implement humanitarian aid to the Strip, especially with the onset of winter, and a solution was emphasized that a two states is the basic guarantee for achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, added that the meeting also dealt with a review of the implementation and ways to maintain the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon as it is the nucleus of regional calm efforts, as well as developments in the situation in Syria, where the President stressed in this regard the utmost importance of preserving the unity and territorial integrity of sisterly Syria and the security of the country. Its people.
The spokesman added that the depth of the strategic relations between Egypt and the United States was emphasized during the meeting, and the two countries’ keenness to continue strengthening them in a way that serves their common interests.
