Egypt Daily News – NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated on Wednesday that member countries of the alliance have provided military aid to Ukraine exceeding 20 billion euros since the beginning of this year.

Rutte made the comments during a press conference ahead of a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, saying, “During the first three months of this year, the allies have provided Ukraine with more than 20 billion euros in military support for 2025.” He confirmed that NATO would “continue its support for Kyiv” and praised U.S. efforts “to resolve the conflict.”

Earlier, in a speech delivered at the European Parliament in Brussels, Rutte stated that NATO member countries must “maintain and enhance their support for Ukraine to change the course of the war, deter future aggression, and enable it to negotiate from a position of strength.”

In January, data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance and Kiel University reported that 32 NATO member states, including Germany, the UK, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, Canada, Norway, Poland, and others, had financed Ukraine with 191.2 billion dollars from February 2022 to mid-January of this year.

This included financial aid to support Ukraine’s social expenses, totaling 43.3 billion dollars, humanitarian aid worth approximately 13.4 billion dollars, and weapons worth 133.4 billion dollars.

The data indicated that the United States alone provided more than half of this aid to Ukraine, accounting for about 54% of the total assistance, or roughly 103.8 billion dollars.

For its part, Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that the influx of weapons into Ukraine will not break Russia’s resolve nor change the course of the special military operation.
