Egypt Daily News – Egyptian weightlifter Sarah Samir made history by winning the silver medal in the women’s 81 kg weightlifting event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
On Saturday, she impressively managed to lift a total weight of 268 kg, showcasing her strength and skill.
In her competition, Sarah achieved her best result in the snatch category, lifting 117 kg. Her success adds to Egypt’s medal tally at the Games, bringing the total to two medals.
Earlier, Egyptian fencer Mohamed El-Sayed secured a bronze medal in the sword competition, defeating Hungary’s Tibor Andravsy in a closely contested match that ended with a golden point score of 8-7.
Egypt is participating in these Olympic Games with its largest delegation ever, comprising 149 athletes across 24 sports, including 79 male and 52 female athletes, along with additional reserve players.
