Egypt Daily News – Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir firmly rejected any attempts at the forced displacement of the Palestinian people under any circumstances. Speaking at the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad, Al-Jubeir stated that the suffering endured by Palestinians requires a unified stance to stop Israeli aggression.

The Saudi Minister also praised former President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Syria during his visit to Riyadh.

Al-Jubeir reaffirmed his country’s support for the Lebanese President’s efforts to ensure all weapons are under state control.

Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al-Zayani also rejected the displacement of Palestinians, emphasizing the urgent need to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza without obstacles.

The summit is taking place under exceptional circumstances, as Israeli military operations in Gaza have continued for the nineteenth consecutive month, resulting in an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. This situation has placed the Palestinian issue at the top of the summit’s agenda.

This summit follows an emergency meeting held in Cairo last March, during which Arab leaders adopted a plan for the reconstruction of Gaza. The plan includes the return of the Palestinian Authority to the territory and presents an alternative to a proposal previously put forward by former U.S. President Donald Trump, which involved relocating residents and placing Gaza under U.S. control.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stated in a press conference that the Baghdad Summit will support the decisions made at the Cairo Summit, with the Palestinian issue remaining a top priority.
