Egypt Daily News – A Saudi source told Reuters that the Kingdom warned the German authorities about the attacker of the car-ramming accident that occurred in a market in the German city of Magdeburg, and his extremist behavior to be on the safe side, after he published extremist opinions on his personal account on the social networking site “X” that threaten security and peace.
While German media announced that the suspect is a Saudi named “Talib Abdul Mohsen,” the German police have not yet announced the identity of the suspect.
Psychologist Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, who arrived in Germany in 2006 as a refugee from Saudi Arabia, was arrested on Friday evening at the site of the attack and was taken into custody.
Der Spiegel magazine reported that the suspect was sympathetic to the far-right Alternative for Germany party. The magazine did not say where it obtained this information, while the German domestic intelligence agency refused to comment on the ongoing investigation, according to Reuters.
It has also been reported that the Saudi suspect, who is considered to hold ‘Islamophobic’ views, may have taken drugs before the attack, having given a positive drug wipe following his arrest.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation of the hit-and-run accident that occurred in a market in the German city of Magdeburg, which resulted in the death of at least five people and the injury of others, expressing its solidarity with the German people and the families of the victims.
In a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saturday morning, the Kingdom affirmed its position in rejecting violence and expressed its sympathy and sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and to the government and people of the Federal Republic of Germany, expressing its wishes for a speedy recovery for those injured, according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). .
