A video circulating widely on social media has triggered concern among residents in Cairo, showing a group of individuals reportedly inside a residential apartment holding bladed weapons while dancing and chanting.

The footage, which has been shared extensively by online users, appears to show several men brandishing knives in what some described as a celebratory or performative setting. However, the presence of weapons in a residential environment has raised alarm and prompted calls for an official response.

According to claims circulated by activists, the video was allegedly broadcast by a little-known channel identified as “SS 24,” described as an unofficial local platform linked to South Sudan. The clip reportedly carried the caption “Open the way, Block 16 is coming,” alongside commentary describing it as disturbing footage of armed individuals filming themselves inside an apartment in Cairo.

The authenticity of the video, including its origin, timing, and the identities of those involved, has not been independently verified.

The incident has fueled public concern, particularly following a separate case in Aswan, where authorities recently detained a group accused of intimidating residents while carrying bladed weapons.

Social media users have urged the Ministry of Interior to investigate the video, verify its circumstances, and take appropriate legal action if necessary. Many emphasized the importance of enforcing laws regulating weapons possession and maintaining public safety.

Others expressed broader concerns about public order, calling for swift intervention to prevent any activities that could spread fear or disrupt community stability.

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the video.
