Egypt Daily News – Syrian media reported that there were casualties and injuries in a series of Israeli airstrikes early this Tuesday targeting the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The “SANA” agency confirmed hearing the sound of multiple explosions around Damascus, while Syrian television announced that “Syrian air defenses are responding to hostile targets in the vicinity of the capital.”
The radio station “Sham FM” in Damascus reported, “The sound of consecutive explosions has been heard again in the city, and air defenses are engaging hostile targets in the vicinity of the capital, amid rising columns of smoke around the Mezzeh area.”
The radio reported “the outbreak of a fire in the vicinity of Mezzeh-West Villas, near the French Garden, following the aggression that targeted the capital. Firefighters are dealing with the blaze amidst the sound of ambulances in the area, and initial information indicates that there are martyrs and human casualties.”
The Syrian General Authority for Radio and Television announced the death of the broadcaster Safaa Ahmad as a result of the Israeli aggression that targeted the capital, Damascus.
Syrian television reported that the aggression resulted in the death of “three civilians and the injury of nine others, along with significant damage to private property.”
Activists and bloggers in Syria shared photos and videos documenting the effects of the Israeli bombardment that targeted Damascus.
The newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” had indicated early Tuesday that the attacks on the Syrian capital, Damascus, were an assassination operation targeting a vehicle in the Mezzeh neighborhood in the southwest of the city.
