Interim President Han

Egypt Daily News – South Korea’s parliament voted by a majority to remove interim President Han. The former Defense Minister of South Korea was also accused of being behind the decision to implement martial law.

The South Korean interim President Han Duk-soo said yesterday, Thursday, that he will not appoint judges of the Constitutional Court until the political parties reach a political settlement on whether this is within his authority before the issuance of the impeachment ruling against President Yeon Seok-yeol.

This came in statements by the interim president in his address to the people, amid increasing pressure from the Democratic Party, the main opposition, to appoint 3 judges to fill vacant positions in the Constitutional Court or face impeachment, according to the Korean News Agency, Yonhap.
