Spain beats Morocco 2-1 and reaches the final of the Paris Olympics

Egypt Daily News – In a thrilling semi-final match at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the Spain national team secured their place in the final by defeating Morocco 2-1.

The match began with Morocco taking the lead when Sofiane Rahimi scored in the 37th minute. However, Spain responded in the second half as Ferman Lopez found the net to equalize in the 65th minute.

The decisive moment came in the 85th minute when Juanlo Sanchez scored Spain’s second goal, ultimately sealing their victory.

The match was not without its challenges, as the referee, Uzbek Ilgiz Tantashev, was injured early on in the 13th minute due to a collision with a Spanish player.

He reported a muscle injury and had to leave the field. Swedish Glenn Nyborg stepped in as the fourth official to continue officiating the match. Spain’s hard-fought win ensures they will compete for the gold medal in the final.
