Egypt Daily News – The Syrian presidency issued a statement issued by Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara, after his meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman today, Sunday, in Riyadh.
Ahmed Al -Shara said in his statement: “I extend my sincere thanks to my brother, His Highness, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, for the warm reception and hosting.”
Al -Shara added: “Today we conducted a lengthy meeting where we touched and heard a real desire to support Syria in building its future, and in order to support the will of the Syrian people and the unity and integrity of their lands.”
The Syrian President continued in his statement: “As we dealt today during the meeting, with extensive discussions and talks in all fields, and we worked to raise the level of our communication and cooperation at a real partnership, it aims to preserve peace and stability in the whole region, and to improve the economic reality of the Syrian people, in addition to the continued political and diplomatic cooperation in order to strengthen Syria’s role in Arab and international positions and issues, especially after the discussions in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during the last month.
The Saudi Press Agency “SPA” reported that Prince Mohammed bin Salman received in his office in Riyadh today, President Ahmed Al -Shara, President of the Syrian Arab Republic.
At the beginning of the reception, the Crown Prince expressed congratulations to the President Al Sharaa, assuming the presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic, wishing him success in achieving the hopes and aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people.
Ahmed Al -Sharaa expressed his thanks and appreciation to Prince bin Salman for his sincere feelings, and for the Kingdom’s positions towards the Syrian Arab Republic and the Syrian people.
During the meeting, the developments of events in Syria and the ways to support the security and stability of Syria were discussed, and “aspects of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the chances of strengthening them in various fields were discussed, as well as reviewing the developments of the regional conditions and the efforts made on them,” according to “SPA”.
It is worth noting that President Sharaa’s visit is his first official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where Foreign Minister Asaad Al -Shaibani visited earlier, and this visit has regional dimensions, the most important of which is Syria’s return to the Arab world a relationship that has suffered during the past years from the apathy between Damascus and the Arab capitals.
