Egypt Daily News – Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s star, has been crowned Player of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association, becoming only the second player in history to win the award three times. He led Liverpool to their second Premier League title in five years.
The Association announced Salah’s win on its official account on the social media platform X, noting that the 32-year-old achieved an exceptional milestone by receiving the largest voting margin this century—about 90% of the total votes—reflecting his dominance in this year’s competition.
With this achievement, Salah joins Arsenal legend Thierry Henry as the only players to have won the award three times.
Salah played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s title-winning season, scoring 33 goals across all competitions, including 28 in the league.
Having recently signed a new contract that will keep him at Liverpool for an additional two years, Salah continues to cement his legacy in both the club’s history and the history of the Premier League.
His closest rival for the award was his Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk, who came second due to his major contributions to the team’s success. Newcastle striker Alexander Isak came third, while Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice placed fourth.
