Egypt Daily News – The United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency session tomorrow, Wednesday, regarding the situation in Lebanon.

In turn, Dr. Abbas Halabi, the Minister of Education and Higher Education in the Lebanese caretaker government, announced today, Tuesday, the extension of the school and university closures until the end of the current week across the country.

In a statement today, “Al-Halabi” said, “Due to the ongoing circumstances that necessitated the closure of educational, vocational, and university institutions in specific areas, and the suspension of classes in other regions, the closure of schools, secondary schools, and official and private vocational institutes will be extended until the end of this week in the southern governorates, Nabatieh, Bekaa, Baalbek-Hermel, and the southern suburbs. Classes will be extended in the governorates of Beirut, Mount Lebanon, the North, and Akkar, and will include the Lebanese University and private higher education institutions in all Lebanese regions until the end of this week.”

“Al-Halabi” called on all officials in educational and university institutions to follow the ministry’s statements regarding this matter.
