After Praise for the Crown Prince: U.S. Sees Saudi Arabia as a Key Partner
Following Trump’s meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, U.S. State Department spokesperson Samuel Werberg said Trump sees Saudi Arabia as a vital partner in various areas such as defense, security, politics, economy, and culture, describing the day as “historic.”
In an interview with Al Arabiya/Al Hadath, Werberg stated that Washington believes Saudi Arabia can participate in joint military exercises and mutual defense. He added that the U.S. wants Saudi Arabia to benefit from American technology, including peaceful nuclear energy.
Werberg also commented on the Riyadh Metro project, saying, “It’s a beautiful, modern project, and we’re proud of the American contribution.”
Trump praised the Crown Prince as a great and unique leader, saying, “I’ll never forget the exceptional hospitality King Salman extended to me eight years ago,” reaffirming that his visit to Riyadh is a historic one.

The Crown Prince received Trump and his delegation at King Khalid International Airport. This marks Trump’s first trip abroad in his second presidential term.
