Egypt Daily News – U.S. President Donald Trump has given Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu two to three weeks to end the war on Gaza, according to a report by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.
The newspaper, citing Israeli sources, reported that Trump is expected to ask Netanyahu to end the war soon. American officials have reportedly warned that Trump is starting to lose patience. While he has granted Netanyahu additional time to continue military operations, the extension is limited, possibly just two to three more weeks, reflecting Trump’s desire to see the war concluded shortly.
The report also indicated that families of Israeli hostages have learned that the Trump administration is working behind the scenes on a new deal for their release, which would also serve to bring an end to the war in Gaza. This deal is said to be part of Trump’s broader Middle East strategy, which includes advancing normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
The newspaper noted that J.D. Vance, Trump’s running mate, assured a delegation of Israeli hostage families of their commitment to securing the release of all captives held in Gaza.
The ongoing war, described by many as a genocidal campaign supported by the Trump administration, has resulted in over 166,000 Palestinian casualties—killed or injured—most of them women and children, with more than 11,000 still missing.
