Egypt Daily News – The Wall Street Journal reported today, Wednesday, that U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision regarding attacking Iran.

According to the American newspaper, several different options were proposed and discussed during the discussion that took place last night, and the military option was one of them.

Sources close to Trump reported that no decision has been made yet, and that the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours will determine whether military action will be resorted to, or whether a diplomatic solution with Iran is still possible.

The White House announced that Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about this issue last night.

The Wall Street Journal pointed out that the United States has not yet joined the attacks on Iran at this stage, following widespread online debate about the movement of American fighter jets and military ships to the Middle East.

The Pentagon confirmed that the deployment of forces in the region aims to help Israel defensively, but this step also allows the United States to attack Iran itself if Trump decides to do so.

Trump escalated his tone toward Iran last night, demanding Tehran’s “unconditional surrender,” and claiming that the United States had full control over Iran’s airspace.
