Egypt Daily News – President Joe Biden met today with President-elect Donald Trump at the White House.
He told President-elect Trump that he looked forward to a “smooth transition” in January, adding that he would “make sure” his predecessor and successor are accommodated when he reclaims the White House in January.
“Well, Mr. President-elect, Donald, congratulations and I look forward to having a smooth transition. Welcome,” Biden said. Trump replied: “Politics is difficult, and in many cases, it is not a nice world, but it is a nice world today, and I appreciate that a lot”.
Trump plans to meet with congressional Republicans as he focuses on Day One priorities and preparing for a possible unified government as the GOP sweeps power in Washington.
It is a “stunning return” to the seat of US government for the former president, who left nearly four years ago as a weak and defeated leader, but he is preparing to return to power with what he and his Republican allies see as a mandate to govern, and before the visit, House Speaker Mike Johnson said that Republicans are “ready to fulfill” Trump’s “America First” agenda.
