Egypt Daily News – US President-elect Donald Trump confirmed that there are many unclear matters in Syria, indicating that Türkiye holds the keys in Syria, pointing out that he has a good relationship with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Trump said, in a press conference, that “Turkey took over Syria in an unfriendly way without losing many lives,” adding: “No one knows the final result in Syria nor who the winning party is, but I think it is Turkey.”
He added from his residence in Florida on Monday that former President Bashar al-Assad was a butcher and what he did to the children was brutal. It is noteworthy that Trump said on December 8 that Assad “fled his country” after losing the support of his ally, Russia.
“Assad is gone”
He added at the time on his social media platform, “Truth Social,” that “Assad is gone,” adding, “His protector, Russia, Russia, Russia, headed by Vladimir Putin, no longer cares about protecting him anymore.”
Before that, Trump stressed that the United States should not interfere in the conflict in Syria.
