Egypt Daily News – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs confirmed that Israeli actions in Gaza, which include airstrikes on populated areas where civilians have been killed, “bear the marks” of barbaric crimes. Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the office from Geneva, stated on Friday, “There is a blatant disregard for human life and dignity. The acts of war we are seeing bear the marks of barbaric crimes.”
He also referred to the resumption of rocket launches by Palestinian factions in Gaza.
World Food Program warns Yesterday, the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) warned that its remaining food supplies in Gaza are only sufficient for two weeks, as hunger once again threatens the region with the resumption of Israeli military operations.
The UN program stated in a statement that it now has “about 5,700 tons of food stock in Gaza,” which will allow it to distribute parcels, flour, and hot meals for “at most two weeks.”
Increase in death toll The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes has risen to 50,208 dead and 113,910 injured since October 7, 2023.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza, in a press release posted on its Facebook page, stated, “The toll of martyrs and injuries since the 18th of this month has reached 855 martyrs and 1,869 injuries.”
It also added, “Twenty-five martyrs and 82 injuries have arrived at Gaza hospitals during the past 24 hours.”
The Ministry indicated that “many victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, and rescue teams and civil defense are unable to reach them.”
It is worth noting that Israel ended the ceasefire with Hamas on March 18, 2025, when it launched a sudden wave of airstrikes that killed hundreds of Palestinians across the sector.
