Israeli Strikes on Yemen

Egypt Daily News – Israeli aircraft launched a series of violent raids on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, including the international airport, during the weekly speech of the leader of the ruling Ansar Allah group in northern Yemen, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.

According to initial reports, the attack targeted sites in the port of Hodeidah, a power station near Sanaa, and a tower at Sanaa International Airport, and came in light of the threats made by Israeli officials.

Yemeni sources reported that “six air strikes targeted Al-Dailami Air Base and Sana’a International Airport,” and stated that “the raids on Sana’a Airport targeted the control tower and the airport runway.”

The sources reported that 3 Israeli raids targeted sites in Hodeidah; Meanwhile, Israeli reports spoke of targeting a power generation station near Sanaa, the Sanaa International Port, and the port of Hodeidah.

Recently, the Houthis intensified their attacks on Israel with ballistic missiles and drones. Israeli air defenses failed to confront Houthi attacks on more than one occasion. Yesterday evening, Wednesday, Netanyahu threatened the Houthis, saying that they “will learn the lesson that Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Assad regime learned, even if it takes time.”

In turn, the Commander of the Israeli Air Force, Tomer Bar, said on Wednesday that Israel will increase the pace of attacks against the Houthis in Yemen “according to necessity.”

“We work with great force wherever we are asked to do so,” Barr said at the graduation ceremony for a pilot course. He added, “We attacked the Houthis in Yemen three times, and we will increase the frequency and intensity of attacks as necessary.”

Today’s attack is considered the fourth Israeli attack on Yemen, as Israel launched air attacks on Yemen three times during the past months, the last of which was on December 19, targeting ports and energy infrastructure in Sanaa and Hodeidah.

The Houthis had announced that the Israeli raids on Yemen resulted in 3 deaths and 11 injuries.
