Egypt Daily News – In a recent phone call, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian urged French President Emmanuel Macron to take action against Israel to prevent further conflict in the region.

He stated that the United States and Western countries need to halt their support for Israel and demand a ceasefire, arguing that this would be essential to avoiding war and stabilizing the situation in Gaza.

Pezeshkian condemned the alleged crimes and violence committed by Israel, accusing Western nations of complicity.

Macron, in response, stressed the importance of protecting civilians and called for an end to revenge attacks against Israel.

He emphasized the need to prevent a new military escalation and highlighted the detrimental effects such conflict would have on regional stability. Macron also mentioned that Iran should encourage other destabilizing players to exercise restraint.

The French President reaffirmed France’s support for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and reiterated a strong stance against any escalation of conflict with Lebanon. The discussions reflect the heightened tensions in the region following the recent killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
