Egypt Daily News – The Readymade Garments Export Council revealed that the sector’s exports increase by 18% to record $2.84 billion in 2024, compared to $2.41 billion in 2023, bringing the sector’s exports to record an outstanding performance over the past year.
17% growth in Egyptian ready-made clothing exports to America
He pointed out that Egypt’s exports of ready-made clothing to the United States of America increased by 17% to record $1.19 billion in 2024, compared to $1.01 billion in 2023.
The Council noted the increase in Egypt’s clothing exports to Europe by 34%, recording $689 million, compared to $514 million in 2023, in the context of the remarkable growth of the sector’s exports to European Union countries as one of the most important receiving markets for clothing.
Egyptian clothing exports to African countries, excluding Arab countries, jumped by 140% to record $8.7 million in 2024, compared to $3.6 million in 2023. Exports to Arab countries also increased by 4%. Türkiye ranked second after the United States of America in terms of importing clothes from Egypt, to achieve exports to Turkey by 9 % to record 242 million dollars compared to $ 222 million.
