Palestinians returning to Northern Gaza

Egypt Daily News – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Friday that approximately 400,000 Palestinians have been displaced in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli military resumed its aggression on March 18.

UNRWA posted on the social media platform X on Friday, stating that estimates indicate the displacement of nearly 400,000 Palestinians in Gaza following the collapse of the ceasefire. The agency pointed out that the citizens in Gaza are facing the longest period of disruption to aid and commercial supplies since the beginning of the aggression.

Since March 2, Israeli authorities have been blocking the entry of essential supplies, including food and water, into Gaza after closing the crossings. This has caused a humanitarian disaster and exacerbated famine and thirst in the region.

UNRWA called for an immediate ceasefire and for the guaranteed, unhindered flow of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies to the Gaza Strip.

International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies: “We cannot watch our colleagues being killed in Gaza”

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Tommaso Della Longa, stated on Friday that it is unacceptable for humanitarian workers to witness their colleagues being killed and buried in mass graves in Gaza while trying to save lives.

Della Longa, in press statements, highlighted the outrage within the humanitarian relief community due to the Israeli military’s attacks on ambulance and rescue workers in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza.

On March 23, Israeli forces executed a team consisting of 9 paramedics, 5 rescue workers, and an employee from a UN agency when they responded to distress calls from civilians trapped in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood in Rafah.

On March 27 and 30, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported finding the bodies of the 15-member team buried in an area about 200 meters from where their vehicles had stopped.
