Egypt Daily News – Gaza Strip is experiencing catastrophic humanitarian conditions worsen, especially with an unprecedented drop in temperatures.
Sources from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, that six Palestinian children have died due to the severe cold that has hit the region in recent days. The latest victim was an infant less than two months old, who lost his life this morning in a displacement camp in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.

He also pointed out that Palestinian displaced persons who have sought refuge in makeshift camps in the southern and central parts of the Strip are living in deteriorating tents that provide neither warmth nor protection from the rain. The recent storm has caused many of these tents to flood, further worsening the suffering of residents, especially children and the elderly.
He explained that heating resources are nearly nonexistent due to the Israeli occupation preventing the entry of fuel and essential supplies. As a result, families are unable to provide warmth for their children amid ongoing power outages and severe shortages of basic necessities.
“The entry of some humanitarian aid trucks in recent days has partially improved conditions, as Palestinians are now almost entirely dependent on food and medical aid. Some hospitals have regained their ability to provide healthcare services thanks to these supplies, but the healthcare system still requires more support to meet the needs of patients and the wounded.”
