Egypt Daily News – Abu Ubaida, the military spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, stated that they managed to recover the body of one of the guards assigned to protect the Israeli-American detainee Aidan Alexander. In an official statement from the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, he said: “We were able to retrieve the body of a martyr who had been assigned to secure the prisoner Aidan Alexander.
The fate of the prisoner and the rest of the fighters holding him remains unknown.”
Prisoners’ lives at risk
He emphasized: “We are trying to protect all the prisoners and preserve their lives despite the brutality of the aggression, but their lives are in danger due to the criminal bombing operations carried out by the enemy’s army.”
Abu Ubaida added: “The occupation lies when it claims that prisoners are treated inhumanely, and it fabricates false testimonies from former detainees to incite against the resistance and cover up the scandal of it killing many of its own prisoners and prolonging the suffering of the rest.”
Time is running out
On Saturday, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades released a video of an Israeli prisoner being held, titled: “Soon… Time is running out.”
The 21-second video included a voice message from an Israeli prisoner addressed to his mother, in which he said: “My dear mother, surely you’re fighting for me as you always have.” The video did not show the prisoner’s face, nor did it reveal his name or any identifying details. It ended with an image of an hourglass and the words “Time is running out” written in Arabic, English, and Hebrew.
The Al-Qassam Brigades have repeatedly warned against Israeli delays in resuming a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, stressing the dangers such delays pose to the lives of the prisoners, especially as Israel deliberately bombs sites where detainees are believed to be held, according to previous statements by the brigades.
