Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received President Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said an official reception ceremony was held and national anthems were played. The two presidents inspected the guard of honor and took a commemorative photo.

President El-Sisi held a closed session of talks with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. The session was later expanded to include delegations of both countries. Two memoranda of understanding between the two countries were signed.

President El-Sisi welcomed President Japarov on his first official visit to Egypt, marking the first visit by a Kyrgyz president to Egypt in the history of bilateral relations. President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of this historic visit in opening new horizons for relations between the two countries and expressed Egypt’s interest to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.

The President also commended the decision of the Kyrgyz Republic to open an embassy in Cairo, as a strategic initiative that will further advance relations between the two countries, especially in the economic, trade, and investment sectors.

President El-Sisi also highlighted the importance of ongoing coordination to convene meetings of the Joint Governmental Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, which will serve as an institutional framework for following up on the outcomes of this visit and building upon them to be commensurate with the distinguished political relations between the two countries.

President Japarov expressed his immense happiness to make his first visit to Cairo and congratulated President El-Sisi on the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, reaffirming his country’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Egypt across all fields. He explained that his country’s decision to open an embassy in Cairo reflects its belief in the importance of Egypt’s pivotal role in the Middle East and Africa, as well as the historical ties between the two countries.

The meeting addressed a number of important issues within the framework of bilateral relations, including the potential involvement of Egyptian companies in development and infrastructure efforts in the Kyrgyz Republic, especially given the extensive experience Egyptian companies have gained in these areas. The meeting also tackled ways to enhance trade and investment relations between the two countries, opportunities for joint manufacturing, and means to strengthen cooperation between religious institutions in both countries to combat extremist ideologies.

The meeting touched upon political developments and regional issues of mutual interest. President El-Sisi reviewed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza Strip and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and mentioned Egypt’s intention to host an international conference on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza Strip by the end of November.

President Japarov expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s active role in achieving the ceasefire agreement, which culminated in hosting the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit. The President of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized the importance of fully implementing the terms of the agreement. President Japarov reviewed his country’s views on developments in Central Asia, outlining the challenges and opportunities facing the region amid the ongoing changes in the international arena.
