Egyptian Bakeries: The increase in the price of “Tourist bread” is slight and the citizen will not notice it

Egypt Daily News – Abdullah Ghorab, head of the Bakeries Division at the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, confirmed that the Ministry of Supply will bear the cost of increasing the price of diesel for bakeries affiliated with the supply system.

He said during statements to the “Happening in Egypt” program with journalist Sherif Amer, broadcast on MBC Misr on Thursday evening, that the price of a loaf of local bread will not increase more than 20 piasters, explaining that the government will bear the increase in the cost of diesel on behalf of bakeries.

He added that there are about 5,000 bakeries in Egypt that sell tourist bread, expecting a “slight increase” in the price of tourist bread that the citizen will not feel, saying that: “The increase in the price of tourist bread will be a very small and slight percentage… and the citizen will not feel it.”

On Thursday, it was decided to increase the prices of all types of gasoline, diesel, and industrial diesel, so that the prices will be as follows:
Gasoline 95… 15 pounds per liter
Gasoline 92… 13.75 pounds per liter
Gasoline 80… 12.25 pounds per liter
Diesel: 11.50 pounds per liter
Kerosene: 11.50 pounds per liter
Diesel supplied to other industries. The price of a ton of diesel is 8500 pounds/ton
